Groupage Expansion Announcement for Continental Cargo Carriers

Continental Cargo Carriers (CCC), based in Oostende, Belgium, is boosting its services, announcing its first Groupage services on 4th July.

This is the next exciting step for the company which earlier in the year revealed it is expanding its trailer fleet by 42 per cent, adding 156 brand new trailers to its vehicle portfolio in the next few months.

More about CCC and its services

CCC recognises the continued strength of the export market from Belgium to the UK, in the post-Brexit landscape. In 2020 Belgium exported $20.1B to the UK.

CCC already offers full and part load consignments, providing a transport service that ensures consignments arrive at any location in the UK efficiently and cost-effectively.

Established in 1973, CCC works with small to medium-sized enterprises and large multi-national clients, and currently operates 270 trailers from its dedicated warehouse in Oostende and UK sales office in Dartford.

Service expansion

The expansion to Groupage (for mixed consignments, where no single commodity makes up 75 per cent or more of the consignment) is a natural progression, following CCC’s continued increases in its daily full and part load consignment traffic volumes.

Groupage customers will be able to utilise CCC’s delivered duty paid product, Continental Flow, where it deals with the EU Value Added Tax (VAT) and duty requirements on customer’s behalf to ensure it keeps imports and exports running smoothly.

Continental Director, Carlo Turner said:

“It’s a hugely buoyant market for customers transporting good between Belgium and the UK, so it’s a logical next step for us to increase our services. Demand is increasing from customers of all shapes and sizes, across all sectors.”

Europa Flow

CCC’s parent company Europa Worldwide Group invested over £5m to create Flow – a unique customs product which successfully allows goods to move quickly and efficiently with minimal delays.

The popularity of this seamless, stress-free Flow service has arisen because it mitigates the exact issues – “increased costs, paperwork and border delays” widely reported following Brexit.

CCC prides itself on its high-quality, streamlined logistics services, and plans to continue to expand both its teams and services in the UK and Belgium.
