Following its relaunch six months ago as Europa Road, there has been further investment in expanding the team and restructuring at the transport operator.
Europa Road’s Developed Services
Oostende-based Europa Road has now fully transitioned from an established unaccompanied cargo carrier of full and part-loads (previously known as Continental Cargo Carriers) to one that transports full, part and groupage loads, to and from the UK.
Europa Road’s growing Oostende team
Despite current challenging economic environment Europa continues to invest, and the company has created eight new sales roles and made two internal promotions. Its boosted sales team is now being headed up by Jack Baxter, who has been with Europa for seven years. Jack manages a team of four experienced sales account managers. In addition, Frank Goes (who has been with the firm for 25 years) now heads Customer Service at Europa Road Belgium.
The team of 47 staff, based in Belgium and in the UK, is expected to expand in the coming months with the introduction of market managers in strategic hub locations. In 2022, the company reported a turnover of €24m.
Carlo Turner, Non-network & Continent Director at Europa Road Belgium
“Since last summer we have continued our major expansion, and have almost doubled the size of the team in the EU. We will continue to invest in restructuring Europa Road Belgium to ensure our operations are more customer centric.”
Jack Baxter joins having previously been Branch Manager for one of Europa’s UK specialist European road freight branches.
“My focus is working to help Belgian importers and exporters optimise the flow of goods between the UK and the EU, by using our in-house transportation expertise and our industry-leading customs services.
“My previous role involved helping British firms navigate their way through Brexit. Therefore, I am well positioned to manage the same process for Belgian businesses, with the similar goal of supporting customers to manage their consignments efficiently.”
Europa Road’s fleet
Already an established player in the unaccompanied trailer market, Europa Road makes 22,000 North Sea crossings per year. The Belgian fleet comprises of more than 400 trailers and is the third largest trailer operator from Zeebrugge. Europa Road has its own trailer network for part-loads and full-loads to and from the Benelux and groupage distribution centre in Belgium, as well as an in-house customs expert.
Europa Road in Belgium’s rebrand
Europa Road Belgium rebranded in September 2022. The operator launched new services, demonstrating its ambition to be the operator of choice between Belgium and the UK. Europa Road transitioned from an established unaccompanied cargo carrier of full and part-loads to one that specialises in a broader depth of services, to and from the UK.
